Steelers look at 2010 as capped season

The Pittsburgh Steelers will look at 2010 as a capped season even though there is likely to be no salary cap because of issues between the owners and players.

The Steelers readily admit that this could put them at a severe disadvantage if other teams start spending freely as some are expected to do.

The team feels that operating under a self-imposed salary cap is the smart way to operate for their small-market organization.

They also feel it will help should an agreement be reached and teams have to try and undo the mess they made when no salary cap was in place.

This has to be disappointing to Pittsburgh fans who were upset with how their team played just one season after winning the Super Bowl.
