Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley is still upset with the team over his contract situation.
Woodley feels as though he has done everything asked of him yet the team won’t step up and do something for him with his contract.
The linebacker said he was told by the Steelers that nothing would be done for him until at least the final year of his contract.
That means he will make just $550,000 this season, which is certainly a huge steal for the Steelers. ( Read More…)

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ awful offseason has gotten that much worse with the news that offensive lineman Willie Colon is out for the season.
Colon tore his right achilles tendon while participating in offseason workouts and will undergo surgery.
It typically takes about a year or so for a player to return from this kind of an injury, so Colon is just hoping to be 100 percent for next season. ( Read More…)

Police have released tapes of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger at the bar and interviews with the woman who accused him of sexual assault.
She told police that she asked Roethlisberger to stop but was afraid of him and his bad temper.
The woman later said that she was a little girl and he was a big, bad man and couldn’t stop him.
She eventually gave into him because she didn’t want to get hurt anymore than she already was.
The accuser also noted that she did not lead Roethlisberger on in any way or lead him into the bathroom.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been cleared by NFL doctors to return to the team.
However, the NFL office stressed that no decision has been made on the length of Big Ben’s suspension.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to monitor the quarterback over the next few months and meet with him when deemed necessary.
The Steelers have a couple of offseason camps coming up that Roethlisberger can participate in.
Training camp begins July 30, and Roethlisberger can participate in those practices as well as preseason games.

In a somewhat surprising announcement, it is expected that Byron Leftwich will named the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Leftwich would be expected to start at least the first four games, at which time Ben Roethlisberger would return from his suspension.
It appears that the veteran will be out Dennis Dixon, who impressed many with his performance against Baltimore last year.
Head coach Mike Tomlin wants a clear order among his quarterbacks, and right now Leftwich is the leader.
Dixon is expected to be the backup quarterback, with veteran Charlie Batch settling in at third string.

Don’t expect to see Pittsburgh Steelers veteran wide receiver Hines Ward on the field for a few more weeks.
Ward is still nursing an injured hamstring and the team wants him to rest it for another few weeks.
Pittsburgh wants to ensure that Ward will be 100 percent healthy when training camp starts up in late July.
After trading away Santonio Holmes in the offseason, Ward’s role with the team is even that much bigger.
It’s a lot to ask from a veteran receiver who is entering the twilight of his career, but Ward hasn’t show many signs of slowing down yet.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu said last year’s knee injury was as serious as it gets.
Polamalu injured the knee twice and still wanted to return to the field but knew his career was at stake.
He was informed by doctors that his career could be over if he injured his knee one more time.
The safety said he feels fine right now, but it remains to be seen what happens when the real action starts.
Those words have to be a serious concern for the Steelers, who have to be surprised at Polamalu’s worry over his knee.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Limas Sweed is out for the season after tearing his achilles tendon.
The injury occurred in a non-contact drill during the team’s final practice as part of a three-day minicamp.
It’s an unfortunate injury for Sweed because he had the opportunity to earn a prominent role in the offense.
After trading Santonio Holmes in the offseason, Sweed was fighting for the No. 3 wideout job.
The Steelers have been frustrated with Sweed’s play so far but were hopeful he would turn things around starting this year.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Bryon Leftwich saw the large majority of the snaps at the team’s recent mini-camp.
That was somewhat surprising given the fact Leftwich was expected to be third on the team’s depth chart behind Dennis Dixon and Charlie Batch.
The team needs to find a starter for at least the first four games of the season because of the Ben Roethlisberger suspension.
Dixon was expected by many to be the starter after he performed reasonably well in one start last year.
It’s only mini-camp, but it seems very suspicious that Leftwich received so much of the workload.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is prepared to accept his suspension from the NFL.
Roethlisberger was suspended for the first six games of the 2010 season, but it could be reduced to four based off of good behavior.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said that Roethlisberger is ready to move on and meet the expectations set by the commissioner.
The Steelers have made an announcement that they do not condone his actions but that they do support him.
They also said that they believe he has earned the right to have another chance to turn his life around and that they are supportive of such changes.
